Genaology of Sevdalinka
Sevdah is a term that denotes a part of Bosnian heritage, not only in music, but also in folk costumes, interior home motifs, emotions of Bosnian people, Bosnian atmosphere and Bosnian traditions, of which there are many. Sevdalinka got its name from the Turkish word sevda, which means love. The Turks took the word sevda from the Arabs, and in our region sevda got an H and sevdah was born.
